And just like that, April is pretty much over. I almost let the month slip by before doing my monthly Favorites and Finds! But rest assured, here it is for your reading pleasure. This month’s list has a slight theme in that it focuses mainly on some Arizona-born companies I’m really digging (plus a couple non-Arizona brands thrown in for good measure). Hope you enjoy!
1. State Forty Eight Clothing
I grew up in New Jersey, became an adult in Tennessee, and while I’ve only lived in Arizona for the past three and a half years, my current home is the one that gives me the most state pride. It’s a great place to live, of course, but it’s also easy to have state pride when such an amazing clothing brand is available to represent that pride. I give you: State Forty Eight, maker of Michael and my favorite graphic tees right now!
2. Sunnybrooke Tea Light Candles
I discovered Sunnybrooke a few years back at a local vendor fair here in the Valley, and I’ve loved the scents of these candles ever since. These small batch tea lights come in delightful scents like Prickly Pear, Cactus & Dewberry, Madagascar Vanilla, Citrus Groves and more. They’re pure soy and made without dyes, paraffin or additives. And while they’re small, each tea light burns for 3-4 hours. Although owner Amanda now resides in Nashville, she ships her candles across North America, so be sure to check them out; they’re are seriously my favorite candles ever!
3. Javelina Leap Winery
Last but not least of the Arizona-born companies on this month’s Favorites and Finds is Javelina Leap Winery. Michael and I discovered this winery and associated wine on our recent trip to the Sedona area (you may have been following along on Instagram). We loved it so much, we came back with a few bottles and even joined the wine club! We must have sampled 10 different wines while we were on site, and they were all seriously delicious. Javelina Leap wines are produced in small quantities and have very limited availability, but if you find yourself in Northern Arizona, you must visit!
4. Pocket
I always try to include something tech-y in these posts, and this month it’s my new favorite app/browser plugin: Pocket. Simply put, Pocket enables you to save articles and videos for later, syncing your desktop and mobile devices into one handy digital pocket. I love it because it helps me keep track of all the things I want to consume, even if I don’t have time right when I find them!
5. Rebel Optic Sunglasses
I’m always on the hunt for interesting sunnies, and Rebel Optic is my new go-to. Like the name implies, these sunglasses are for the rebels. They’re unique, high-quality, and yet incredibly cost effective. I’m rocking the Transparent Rose Lookers — how could you go wrong with mirrored sunnies that look this cool?! Be on the lookout for these in some upcoming outfit posts. And if you’re interested in rocking your own pair of Rebels, use the discount code NICOLE20 for 20% off your entire order now through the end of June!
So there you have it: a few of my favorite things for the month of April. What things are you loving at the moment?
