When people ask me what my home decor style is, I struggle to answer. I love mid-century modern, but I’m not a purist. I have some amazing vintage pieces from the early 1900’s, but I wouldn’t call my home “vintage.” I suppose I’d call it, “contemporary eclectic.” And since I don’t really stick to any true style, I find ways to incorporate different styles I love in little ways around the house. One of those styles is bohemian. And the way I mostly incorporate it? Baskets!
Boho-inspired baskets can be used in so many ways: some obvious and some a little more interesting! Here are the six ways I’m using baskets in my home decor:
1. To hold umbrellas near the front door
Using a boho basket is a much more fun way to store wet umbrellas than the typical container…or just the floor 😉
2. To hold blankets in the living room
Because who doesn’t need cozy blankets right within reach?!
3. And dog toys, too!
Sidebar: dying over this photo of Shelby! 😂😂😂
4. To put plants in
Just be sure to have another pot inside to actually hold the dirt in place!
5. To hold extra toilet paper rolls in the powder room/guest bath
Using a basket is so much more fun than one of those boring toilet paper holders. Plus, it ensures your guests can easily find rolls as they need them!
6. As a hamper for your dirty clothes
To make this work, find the largest basket you can. Bonus if you can find one with handles like this one.
How do you incorporate different styles into your home in little ways?
