This is an older DIY project, but one definitely worth sharing!
When my dad tied the knot back in 2011, I wanted to create something that he and his new wife could enjoy for years, and this typography art turned out to be perfect.
Luckily for me (and for anyone looking to create their own typography art), Leo Reynolds’ Flickr photostream has thousands of photos of typography and signage that you can use for free with few restrictions. The hardest part of creating this look is sorting though HUNDREDS of letters to find the perfect combination.
To Create
- Find all necessary letters and numbers, and use a tool like Photoshop to lay them out on an 11″ x 14″ page.
- Print the file (I had mine done at FedEx) on 11″ x 17″.
- Frame the print in a 16″ x 20″ frame with an 11″ x 17″ mat.
Personally, I love the way it came out! What do you think?
