I’m starting a new monthly series here on Work|Wear|Wander where I’ll be sharing my personal favorites and finds for the month. These will cross fashion, beauty, home decor, food, entertainment and more, and hopefully they’ll give you some insight into the things I’m loving on a monthly basis.
1. Birdies Slippers
If you follow my outfit posts, you know I pretty rarely wear traditional flats. The reason is because I can almost never find ones I like. Little did I know the worlds greatest flats are actually slippers! Birdies slippers are the perfect mix of fashion and comfort. I rock mine around the house and outside it, and I love them for traveling. They’re even suitable for work; they’re so chic that no one even notices I’m actually wearing slippers all day!
2. Reply All Podcast
Working in digital marketing, I can’t get enough of all things internet. That’s why I’m obsessed with Gimlet Media’s Reply All podcast. I listen to it every day on my commute to and from work and just about any other time I’m in the car, doing chores around the house or simply passing the time. Episodes tend to be somewhat random and are only connected through the fact that they have something to do with the internet. The result is a new found knowledge of a ton of random interesting facts.
3. Two Faced Candlelight Highlighting Powder Duo
Apparently this highlighting powder duo has been out for years, but I’ve only recently discovered it thanks to one of my girlfriends on our recent girls’ weekend in Vegas. I’ve been using the Warm Glow palette and loving the subtle glow it provides on my skin.
4. Zella Live In Leggings
If you’re looking for a cost effective alternative to Lululemon leggings, you must check out Zella’s Live In Leggings! Zella is Nordstrom’s in-house athleisure brand and one I’ve been loving lately. (Nordstrom actually hired a previous Lulu product manager to develop the line.) I could literally wear these leggings every. single. day.
5. The Zen Bird Workshops
This one’s for my fellow Phoenix ladies and those planning to travel in. Over the past few months, I’ve had the pleasure of attending a few of Marian Mellen’s Heart + Soul workshops here in the Valley, and I can’t speak more highly of her and her company, the Zen Bird. With topics such as positive thinking, radical self love, body image, creativity and more, Marian’s curriculum is perfect for any women looking to be truly empowered to be her best self.
