Night two of Phoenix Fashion Week at Talking Stick Resort was all about contemporary, and I’m sharing my personal favorite highlights. If you haven’t already, be sure to check out my day one recap, which also explains the format of Phoenix Fashion Week. And of course, for outfit details on what I wore to PHXFW day two, read yesterday’s post.

Amanda Casarez was another of my early Phoenix Fashion Week favorites after the Shop Garment District event a few months back, and her full collection did not disappoint. With a palette of soft pinks, mint and gray (and a few touches of black thrown in), I love how feminine Amanda’s collection is. I would definitely wear so many of her pieces and seriously might buy a few of the flowy dresses she showed. Amanda didn’t win contemporary designer of the year, although I personally thought she should have.
Also competing for emerging designer of the year in the contemporary category was Ricci JvR. While not every look she showed was exactly my style, I fell in love with her slinky sequined dresses and her overall creativity in the structure of her pieces. This South African designer is certainly one to look out for!
Luxery by Xandra
Established Swiss designer Luxery by Xandra took to the runway later in the evening with quite possibly one of the most colorful collections at Phoenix Fashion Week. While I’m not sure you’ll find these looks in my closet, I did appreciate the movement these bright looks brought to the runway.
Friday evening at Phoenix Fashion Week closed with established designer, Resty, and it truly was a princess moment on the runway. Intricate beading, crowns…what more could you ask for in an evening-wear line?! All the way from Kuwait, Resty did an amazing job of mixing ball gowns with more contemporary elements to create a line of truly red carpet-worthy looks.
Overall, night two of Phoenix Fashion Week at Talking Stick Resort was another great one! One more day of recaps to go, so be sure to join me later this week as I share my final PHXFW outfit and a night of shows in the couture category (my personal favorite).
