Hope you enjoyed my day 1 recap of Phoenix Fashion Week at Talking Stick Resort! (If you haven’t seen it yet, be sure to check it out.) Today, I’m excited to continue the fun with my official day 2 recap, which started with another trip to our favorite beauty bar, the Sparkle Bar, where Jalia glammed both Katrina and I before we returned to Talking Stick Resort for another night of fashion.
This night was a mixed bag for me, with some lines really wowing and some falling a little short, but in an effort to keep things positive, I’m only writing about the highlights in today’s post, including one emerging designer and three established designers.
First up, emerging designer ARAE. Created by Rachael Levine, this shibori silk line is so casual and chic all at the same time. I fell in love with so many of these pieces and wasn’t the least bit surprised when she was named designer of the year for Friday night. Not to mention, the styling was perfect, and Beltshazzar Jewels‘ line paired so wonderfully with ARAE’s unique pieces!
Speaking to Rachael on Saturday night, we also learned that Free People will be picking up her winter accessories line, so be sure to check that out as well if you love this emerging designer as much as I do! I think we’ll see big things from Rachael in the coming months and years.
By the time we got to the established designer portion of the evening, I think everyone was looking for a little pick-me-up, and we certainly got that with the next designer: Dolcessa Swimwear!
With smiling, vivacious models, this show brought tons of energy to the runway, and I was really impressed with each and every piece. It’s no surprise that these swimsuits have graced the pages of the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit edition for the last 5 years, and while I may personally not quite have the body to rock some of these suits, I would wear just about every cover-up we saw on Friday night!
Next, we got to see the stunning designs of Yen. These intricate looks stunned on the runway and definitely reminded me of looks we’re used to seeing on the red carpet.
And finally, Yas Couture closed out the evening with stunning bead work, gorgeous capes and the largest wedding gown I’ve ever seen!
I loved each and every piece in this collection and appreciated how the models ended the show out on the runway for all of us to truly appreciate each piece.
That’s all for Phoenix Fashion Week day 2! Stay tuned for my day 3 recap coming very soon!
